Well the day has finally come… my semester at Lingnan University is finished!! I completed my last exam and wrote my final paper today! Normally I would be completely ecstatic to be done with school, but today I just felt kind of bittersweet. Time has passed by so quickly here in Hong Kong and I will be extremely sad to leave. Living and studying abroad has been one of the best experiences of my life. I can honestly now call Hong Kong my “home away from home”. Apart from having amazing travel opportunities and going on so many adventures, what I will miss the most is all of the amazing new friends I have made. I have made so many new friends that live right here in Hong Kong, but I have also made friends from all over the world that were exchange students as well. We have all gotten so close it was as if we were a family and saying goodbye will be extremely hard.
All depressing comments aside, I am able to say how truly accomplished I feel with this semester ending. I can honestly say that I have tried so many new things that at first may seem strange or even a bit scary, but still I was able to keep an open mind for the most part. I think this is so important when studying abroad and at times it can be difficult, but in the end I am soo happy to say I was able to tough it out!!
Also, I have one last travel opportunity to look forward to as a reward for making it through the semester…Thailand for two weeks!! This is one of the Asian countries I have been most excited to visit. I will travel with some friends there and be able to end my semester with even more great memories. Anyways, this is my last blog and honestly I struggled with it. I don’t think my words can accurately describe my experiences both good and bad or the emotions that came along with those experiences. I’ll leave you by saying that study abroad is definitely an experience worthwhile. It will help you to learn and grow as a person while making unforgettable memories and having the time of your life along the way! Lastly, here are a few last photos of my last couple days in Hong Kong. Enjoy!
